Taco Bell let their app users vote for the limited time return of either the Double Decker Taco or the Enchirito.
The fast-food chain let users of the Taco Bell app vote Sept. 27-Oct. 6 for the limited time return of either the Double Decker Taco or the Enchirito.
Perhaps the result was a case of distance making the appetite growing fonder. The Enchirito, a soft flour tortilla filled with seasoned beef, beans and diced onions covered with red sauce and cheese, was introduced in 1970 but had been removed from the menu in 2013. It was going up against the Double Decker Taco, which first hit the menu in 1995. A traditional crunchy taco enveloped by a flour tortilla layered with beans, the Double Decker Taco became a permanent menu item in June 2006 and 13 years later was removed.
