The weekly tornado siren testing in Franklin County is being suspended this week because of a threat of severe weather in the area.
The test typically occurs each week at noon on Wednesday and is conducted by Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security.Because of the threat of thunderstorms being in the forecast for Wednesday, the test is being suspended this week to avoid confusion and panic.
Wednesday's forecast calls for storms to move into the area in the afternoon with the potential for heavy rain and damaging winds. There is a low chance for tornadoes in the central Ohio region.
