A National Weather Service advisory forecasts another 4 to 8 inches of snow for the Anchorage Hillside on Wednesday and into Thursday.

The worst conditions are expected in Portage Valley, eastern Turnagain Arm and Whittier, according to aissued by the weather service. Additional snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches is forecast by Wednesday afternoon from the Hope Cutoff to Seward, while 6 to 12 inches is expected in Whittier, Portage and Turnagain Pass.

Eastern winds up to 45 mph are forecast to hit Portage Valley and eastern Turnagain Arm and are expected to be strongest Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning. The winds are expected to shift west Wednesday afternoon and continue into Thursday. Northerly winds are expected to gust up to 50 mph in Seward on Wednesday morning before diminishing in the afternoon. The strong winds paired with light snow will likely create whiteout conditions and snowdrifts.
