We reviewed two Booths puddings and wont be rushing back for them anytime soon
Whenever you hear the word Cartmel, you might automatically think about Cartmel Sticky Toffee pudding.Well, on a trip to Booths, I decided to pick one up and give it a go and while I was there, I noticed there was a lemon drizzle pudding too. You just know I had to give both of these a go - and let me tell you it wasn't what I expected.
I made the decision to serve this with some greek yoghurt and a few strawberries - a bold choice but I thought this might balance out how sweet it was inevitably going to be. As I took my first bite, I was not impressed. The sticky toffee was very sticky, it certainly lived up to its name in that sense. But I also felt it was quite chewy and definitely needed the sauce and maybe some more on top of that.
Next on the list was the lemon drizzle pudding. The dome-shaped pudding was heated up by throwing it into the microwave for a few minutes - so definitely less effort than the sticky toffee.
