Haaland should've had a second moments later when he won possession back just outside the Leipzig box, but the striker rushed hit shot, rattling the outside of the post in the process. City had coped well with Leipzig's search for an equaliser as the game went on, and with 14 minutes to go, Ruben Dias doubled City's lead.
