Blackpool and fish and chips are almost synonymous with one another. For us Brits, there's nothing quite as good as tucking into your salt and vinegar-laden meal whilst a seagull tries to steal it from you.
However, it appears that Papa's may have lost its crown recently as it's experienced some negative reviews on TripAdvisor. A few reviewers in the last week have called the chippy 'disappointing', citing waiting times and a lack of quality in the food as the reasons. This includes a small haddock, chips, sausage or fish cake and a side where you can choose from either mushy peas, gravy or curry sauce. I'm happy with my price and my order - so far, so good.
People were looking around and at their watches, somewhat perplexed about what was going on. Yes, you can understand this sort of wait during the illumination switch-on, the recent Blackpool Air Show or when the queues are out of the door. For a Tuesday lunchtime, it seemed disproportionate.
