We've had reports of mammoth potholes in every corner of the city recently, but this famous street is blighted with them, including a deep crater that locals fear could injure a crossing pedestrian.Potholes are a hot topic of conversation - and a visit to one of the city’s busiest main roads shows the ground crumbling underfoot here in Glasgow.
A nearby resident commented: “You could easily break your ankle crossing the road there, if you didn’t see it in time - and lots of people do run across at that junction. Other problem areas include a sinking manhole and a deep crevice surrounding it at Hayburn Street - which residents told Glasgow Live has been there for weeks - and deep gashes running the length of the westbound carriageway on the approach to Thornwood Roundabout.previously told Glasgow Live: “Potholes can appear suddenly at any time and are caused by environmental factors such as volume and weight of traffic, ice and rain.
“The road network is inspected on an ongoing basis but we urge people to report any road faults to us directly so they can be properly assessed and included in an appropriate repair programme. Issues with the road network can be reported via our website, the MyGlasgow phone app or through the MyGlasgow social media channels.
