MANILA - The Philippines and the United States on Tuesday launched their biggest joint military exercise in 38 years with a ship-sinking rocket bombardment drill in the South China Sea as tensions over Beijing’s rising military aggression flare in the region.at the Armed Forces of the Philippines headquarters in Manila.
He said Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr would observe the live demonstration and that he was “excited” to watch the Filipino and US forces in action. Australia is also deploying over 100 soldiers for Balikatan, while allied countries such as Japan, India, Canada and the United Kingdom are sending military observers.
