Season 4 will pick up with the Hargreeves living in their newly reset universe after The Umbrella Academy season 3's twist ending, with none of them having access to the extraordinary powers they've leveraged throughout the series. Presumably, they'll get their powers back at some point during The Umbrella Academy's final episodes.
The Umbrella Academy Revealed How Klaus & Dave Can Reunite The Umbrella Academy season 1 reveals that Klaus fell in love with a soldier named Dave Katz during a time travel mishap that sent him back to the 1960s. The pair wound up in the Vietnam War together, and Dave died on the battlefield. Klaus manages to summon his ghost during The Umbrella Academy season 1, but that timeline gets reset. In The Umbrella Academy season 2, Klaus tries to prevent Dave from enlisting in the army altogether.
It seems as though Dave is destined to die in every timeline of The Umbrella Academy, but the show hasn't revealed what becomes of him after the universe resets in season 3. Even if Dave is dead in that Umbrella Academy timeline, it doesn't mean he can't reunite with Klaus at the end of the show. If Klaus is able to traverse through other individuals' afterlives, he should be capable of tracking down his lost love.
Umbrella Academy's Original Dave Might Still Exist With The Umbrella Academy constantly messing with its timelines, it's hard to say if supporting characters from season 1 still exist as the Hargreeves knew them. One would think the afterlife is independent of time, which would mean the original Dave still exists there. That's the Dave Klaus needs to find, as that's who he fell in love with.
