The agreement endorsed by President Cyril Ramaphosa aims to enhance collaboration between police and law enforcement to address safety and security concerns in the province.

CAPE TOWN - Less talk, more action, that is the sentiment of Western Cape Premier Alan Winde who joined other stakeholders in Belhar on Friday, to sign a cooperation agreement between the South African Police Service and provincial law enforcement agencies.

Winde said it's significant that the agreement is being signed at the Cape Flats, where residents are caught in the grip of gang violence. "It is also very meaningful that we are having this on the Cape Flats because it is this part of the province that feels crime the most, and we need to be deploying to where it is the most effective.""Our government needs to join up as we are on a national level, we need to join up in making sure that we stand together to fight crime."

We are bringing together national, provincial and local government, the SAPS, the City of Cape Town, community organisations and private security companies.
