Birmingham City's bosses are continuing negotiations with Wayne Rooney's representatives, in the hope that he can be confirmed as the club's new head coach before the weekend. Rooney is still in Washington, but is due to fly to the UK in the next few days to complete the deal. The former England and Manchester United striker isn't mentioned directly in the open letter to Birmingham's fans, written on Tuesday by the club's chief executive.
