Plans by Polokwane municipality in Limpopo to turn the provincial capital into a metro have been stymied by acute water challenges.

These challenges, according to Mpe, were worsened by mechanical failures at the pump stations of Olifantspoort – leaving major parts of the city without water for weeks.is at the core of our problems,” said Mpe.
