Social media users can’t get enough of a video that captured a “rare” moment when an elephant gave birth at the Kruger National Park.

“Amazing sighting of an elephant giving birth this morning, 5km before Lower Sabie from Croc Bridge. We were privileged to witness the birth and interactions with the rest of the herd , and the electric atmosphere they created with their vocalizing and stomach rumbling. A lifetime sighting,” Fillmore captioned the post.Once the little elephant lands on the ground, the mother elephant appears to make a sound that immediately summons other elephants.The new mommy gently kicks the little one.
Although the video ends before the baby elephant could get up, social media users were amazed at how family-orientated the herd of elephants was and gushed over the baby elephant. Roar Wildlife News shared an update in the comments section of the video, saying: “According to the person who filmed this, the baby stood up after about an hour.”
