President Cyril Ramaphosa is trending against the backdrop of his recent dancing video in KwaZulu-Natal. Take a look...

On Thursday, President Cyril Ramaphosa, Zulu monarch King Misuzulu KaZwelethini, and Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli, together with several high-ranking government officials and traditional leaders, unveiled King Shaka’s statue at Durban’s King Shaka International.Visitors at the busy airport will now be greeted by a grand, towering statue of the legendary leader whom the airport is named after.

The 6,5-metre-tall statue’s journey has been long and complex. It was originally commissioned by the KZN government 14 years ago. Some quickly criticise the gesture, discrediting the president as a ‘true warrior.’ However, the president showed off some of his sleek dance moves to celebrate the honour.

Others were quick to implicate former President Jacob Zuma. The celebrated statesman is best known for his signature Zulu dance moves.
