The group began back in the 1920′s as a way to encourage citizens of Mobile to plant azaleas that would line local streets.
The Mobile-based Azalea Trail maids were once again invited to March in Chicago’s 2022 Thanksgiving Day Parade.Happy Thanksgiving from the 2022 Chicago Thanksgiving Parade!, the Azalea Trial Maids are considered the official ambassadors for the city of Mobile.
Each one of the dresses represents the color of azaleas in the city of Mobile – green, yellow, blue, peach, and lavender. Only one dress – wore by that year’s queen – is pink.
