WATCH: Lwandle area remains extremely volatile as protests continue CapeTimesSA
CAPE TOWN - Public Order Police and other Law Enforcement Agencies said on Thursday that they are in the process of policing protests in the Lwandle area.
According to the police statement, over 1000 Lwandle community members are participating in the service delivery protest. Eight people have been arrested so far. It should be noted that several roads are closed and police say the situation is extremely volatile at the moment.Police have also said that Khayelitsha protesters were seen burning tyres in the Harare and Lingelethu policing precincts.
The unit said that several roads have been closed, this includes the Corner of Mew Way and Spine Road, the Corner of JK Masemola and Spine Road.
