San Antonio police are holding a perp walk for a suspect accused of shooting at officers overnight in a church parking lot on the Northeast Side. The perp walk will be held around 6:45 p.m.
Sunday at Public Safety Headquarters. The event will be livestreamed in the video player above.Investigators are searching for a suspect who was involved in a shootout with San Antonio police in a church parking lot on the Northeast Side overnight.Two officers were sitting in their patrol vehicle in a church parking lot when the suspect drove toward them at a high rate of speed.
Once the vehicle pulled up in front of the patrol car, someone inside opened fire on the officers, according to SAPD. Both of the officers got out of the vehicle and one of them returned fire. Neither of the officers were injured, police said.The suspect vehicle got away but was later found parked and unoccupied outside of a home in the 4500 block of Buckmoor Street.
The suspect vehicle was impounded and investigators said there was no evidence that anyone inside had been hit by the gunfire. Police notified the homeowner that the vehicle had been removed and no arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
