WATCH LIVE: Infamous Gupta Waterkloof landing in spotlight at Zondo commission
The judicial commission of inquiry into state capture resumes on Thursday with testimony from former international relations and cooperation minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.The Gupta family landed a commercial aircraft at the air force base without permission back in 2013. It carried about 200 guests who were invited to attend the family's lavish wedding at Sun City.
In July this year, former chief of state protocol Bruce Koloane told the commission he had abused the powers of his office in order to facilitate the Waterkloof landing, but that he did not have control of diplomatic channels. He also admitted that he had"name dropped" to pressure officials to expedite the processing of the flight clearance request.
Commission will hear Waterkloof landing related testimony from the former Minister of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Minister Maite Nkoana Mashabane on Thursday, 21 November 2019 at 10H00.
