JUST IN: CBS News has learned that in his State of the Union address, President Biden is expected to announce that he is following in the footsteps of European allies and closing U.S. airspace to Russian aircraft.
Biden to outline 'unity agenda' including effort to tackle mental health crisis
Mr. Biden's call for Congress to send him bills that help American families comes as large components of his agenda have been blocked in Congress, since Democrats hold only a small majority in the House and the Senate is split 50-50. One issue the president will pinpoint is the country's mental health crisis, which has been worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the White House, Mr. Biden envisions transforming how mental health is perceived, as well as strengthening and expanding treatment. To do this, the president will call for increasing the workforce, breaking down barriers — including financial ones — to care and taking steps to promote wellness in schools, online, workplaces and more.
