Heat pumps – home heating devices that transfer heat rather than creating it from a fuel – are gaining steam as the preferred solution for staying warm without harming the planet. But not many Utahns are up to speed on heat pump technology, which has improved in recent years and is now considered a viable option even in the coldest parts of the world.The event included representatives from HVAC installers and Rocky Mountain Power who can speak to the advantages of heat pumps and the options available. Tribune renewable energy reporter Tim Fitzpatrick moderated the discussion, which included questions from the audience.
