The EFF said there was need for education among political leaders, and communities in general, about the rights of queer individuals. Pappa D, a Ugandan human rights activist and photographer, spoke during the march in solidarity with the Ugandan LGBTQIA+ community about the transgressions that come with being queer in her country.To be black and homosexual is a criminal offence in Uganda. I face a lot of inhumane treatment from my family and community, I have nowhere to go. I’m not standing here as a member of the EFF or supporter of any political agenda.
