Pupils are currently allowed to attend schools only in the area in which they live.
Lesufi said the power to admit or not admit a pupil will now be administered by the HOD.
He said school policies need to be submitted to the HOD who will then decide to approve the policies. "Gone are the days where our children cannot go to a particular school because it is full or they speak a different language," Lesufi said. Some 334 schools contested the proposed feeder zone regulations and Lesufi said the concerns over these schools have been resolved.
