Former president Jacob Zuma was sentenced to 15 months behind bars for contempt of court in June 2021.
JOHANNESBURG - Former President Jacob Zuma is a free man. His 15-month prison term ends on Friday.
Zuma was sentenced in June last year after he ignored a court ruling to participate in the state capture inquiry. He handed himself in on 7 July, triggering the KZN riots that saw wide-scale looting and destruction.In December, the High Court set aside the decision and ordered him to return to jail.
