'Tipping is a choice and I'd like to have it': Social media user Ike Slimster says customers should not be forced to tip waiters.
Music producer and comedian Ike Slimster divided social media when he revealed this week that tipping is a choice and things are getting out of hand.“Tipping is a choice and I’d like to have it. I choose how and where I spend my money. Because it’s getting out of hand, like choose your percentage.”
Slimster also slams waiters who expect tips at restaurants and adds: “You didn’t even sprinkle salt. You did nothing to add to the experience.” He says that waitrons sometimes don’t greet, they just went to the kitchen and picked up a plate of food. If he knew that he’d be expected to tip such a high amount, he would have gone to the kitchen and gotten his plate himself.
@Sharstar: “If you can’t tip, cook at home or eat Burger King. Why don’t people understand that? They LIVE off of their tips”. @Rukuslive: “If you didn’t add to the experience, why am I adding to my bill? Even the drive thru is asking for tips! I’m old enough to remember when the only way you were getting my tip at the drive-thru was if you brought my food on roller skates.”@ChefJeff: “I’m in the industry. I love my tips because extra money but there’s no justification for a server to have all the tips whereas the cook sweating in the kitchen gets nothing and is underpaid.
