The seriousness of the protests in Alexandra township and the gravity of the issues which led residents to shut down the township cannot be taken lightly, but humour made a brief showing on the frontlines of the protest action on Wednesday. A reporter caught video footage of one the protesters mimicking the miracles of Alleluia International Ministries church leader pastor Alph Lukau, who recently claimed to have “resurrected” a dead man during a Sunday service.
Lukau’s claims sparked a social media craze which gave rise to the hashtag #ResurrectionChallenge as users posted hilarious video clips of their own “resurrections”.In typical South African style, locals find humour in difficult situations. Taking a dig the “resurrection prophet” is this gentleman at the frontline of the protest ????
