Steve Kerr tried his best to calm down Draymond Green after the forward picked up a technical for yelling at a ref.
Green picked up a technical foul in the second quarter, after a review overturned a call on the floor and hit Green with a blocking foul on the Lakers’ Anthony Davis, his third personal of the game to that point. The review proved to be important in the Warriors’ 127-97 Game 3 loss, as Green was dogged by foul trouble the rest of the way.
As Green headed to the bench, he started arguing with referee Bill Kennedy, who T’d him up after he presumably said something uncouth.Following that incident — and a missed technical free throw, which prompted Green to shout “Ball don’t lie” from the bench — a video from Crypto.com Arena showed Kerr speaking with the visibly agitated Warriors veteran. It’s not clear what Kerr was saying, but he put his arm on Green’s shoulder and was clearly speaking to him individually.
In the wake of Green’s suspension for Game 3 of the Kings series after he stepped on the chest of Domantas Sabonis, Kerr told reporters that it is difficult to slow down the Golden State player’s intensity, particularly when it comes to shouting at officials.
