Numerous videos show people injecting themselves with hyaluronic acid purchased online, presumably in an effort to cut down the commercial cost of lip fillers, which start from around £200 per session when administered by a professional.
Claire Clea, aesthetic practitioner at La Fuente Clinic and nurse of 11 years, explained: ‘While it may seem like a cost-effective option initially, the potential consequences can be financially devastating with corrections to this procedure costing way more to the user. ‘This pen that has been seen on TikTok was originally designed for insulin use and is a terrible idea to use when it comes to lip fillers.
