Ms Jarvie said: “These price rises come at a time when families are seeing many of their other bills also rapidly rising and family budgets under pressure. For some, it will mean needing to rethink about whether it pays for them to work during the holidays, but for others, it will mean cutting back on other things and increasing stress during the holidays.”
Ms Jarvie said: “This can mean that some families face prices significantly above the average in order to find clubs that match their families’ needs, or that some families miss out on the positive experience of high quality holiday childcare.”found holiday activities priced as high as £220 for a two-day cricket course for kids, with another provider advertising in person coding and robotics week-long summer camps for £550.
“How do you suddenly find that? You don’t get paid more in August. There were cheaper ones more on the £30 spectrum and I think that’s the other thing that puts me off, you’re kind of [thinking] ‘are all of the kids just going to be running around in a hall?’”
