Riders now need to be aware. Be ready. There are predators nearby. Sometimes they hurt somebody. Sometimes they are caught before they do. From joe_warmington: TTC riders are sitting ducks while politicians focus on removing statues and street signs

Kartik Vasudev, 21, of Toronto, was shot to death outside Sherbourne TTC station on Thursday, April 7, 2022.There have been many others wounded, too, who are recovering from the damage this out-of-control mayhem has caused. It’s all pretty gross, but keeps happening. These are real people. They are you. They just rode the TTC but ran across the wrong person during their commute.Article content

So, if you see a mayoral candidate, ask them to name these slaying victims. Ask them about the idea of trying out theagain. Why not? Politicians, judges, Justice of the Peace, doctors, or administrators are not doing the job. They are never held accountable for any of this carnage. They, also, never seem to try to fix it with the same energy as wanting to tear down statues or street signs of people who have been dead for 150 years..

Everything should stop the minute someone who does not belong on the transit system steps on. The best strategy is for everybody, including operators, to get off as soon as possible when someone displaying obvious issues enters. Don’t worry about being politically correct or hurting anybody’s feelings. Worry about your own safety and your family’s. Worry about staying alive.

No TTC bus, train or streetcar should move if there is somebody who is clearly troubled. If the leaders are not going to prevent dangerous people from putting innocent people at risk, the public needs to say they won’t share a bus, streetcar, train or station with somebody sleeping, or panhandling or harassing people.

It’s not worth the risk. Since people can’t count on the system to keep them safe, they should not wait until someone comes along and kills them.
