In May, the French forward signed a new three-year deal in Paris, ending speculation that he would join Real Madrid, who had made a few offers to sign the player over the course of the 2021/22 campaign. However, just a few months later, it was claimed that the 24-year-old wanted to leave PSG after a number of promises made to him were not kept by the club's hierarchy, including his reported desire to see Neymar sold.
Despite their well-known financial problems, the Catalan giants were active in the most recent transfer window, signing seven players, and it appears the club wants to continue their spending spree.
