The status of the full implementation of Vote18 is expected to be known as early as the end of next year or by the end of 2021, said Election Commission chairman Azhar Azizan Harun.
“I would like to make it clear that Vote18 will only be implemented fully once or separately after taking into account views from various quarters,” he said in a statement issued in Kuala Lumpur late yesterday. In addition, an amendment to any necessary election law or regulation to implement Vote18 and amendments to the respective State Constitutions to allow a citizen aged 18 years to stand as a candidate for a state assembly seat.
