Volvo customers, including those in Canada, will gain access to 12,000 Supercharger connectors and the Swedish brand will incorporate Tesla's North American standard charge port into its vehicles starting in 2025.
The Swedish automaker on Tuesday said its electric-vehicle customers will have access to Tesla's 12,000 Superchargers across North America.
Volvo plans to go all electric globally by 2030. The brand's Recharge line of battery electric and plug-in hybrid models accounted for 27 per cent of U.S. sales last year. Canadian details weren't available. Volvo Cars Chief Commercial Officer Bjorn Annwall said improving the charging experience is a"high priority" for the brand.
Tesla's network has been rated as more reliable by independent studies and is growing considerably faster than competing networks.
