Volkswagen celebrates the success of the Polo Vivo with a limited-edition model, the Edition 15, featuring unique styling elements and honoring the nameplate's history.
Volkswagen has unveiled a special commemorative edition of the Polo Vivo at its product Indaba on Wednesday, February 5th. This limited-edition model, known as the Edition 15 , will be restricted to 1,500 units and available in two colors: Deep Black Pearl and a new Crystal Blue Pearl. The Edition 15 marks the significant milestone of 425,000 Polo Vivo sales across both generations.
Building upon the mid-life facelift introduced last year, the Edition 15 boasts distinctive features such as 15-inch machined Adelaide alloy wheels, a black roof and mirror caps, a blacked-out C-pillar, and Edition 15 logos adorning the base of the rear doors and the left side of the bonnet. Inside, the cabin remains largely unchanged, with the only addition being an Edition 15 branded scuff plate. Similar to the door decal, the scuff plate features a monogram representing both generations of the Vivo.Mechanically, the Edition 15 maintains the same specifications as the regular Vivo. While exact details were not disclosed, displayed models exhibited both a five-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed Tiptronic. Based on visual observations, the manual Edition 15 appears to be based on the 1.6 Style trim, while the Tiptronic version resembles the 1.6 Life. Power output is expected to remain unchanged from the regular Vivo, likely with the same 77kW/153Nm directed to the front axle through the chosen gearbox configuration. The Polo Vivo Edition 15 is scheduled for a full unveiling with detailed specifications and pricing information before its market launch in the third quarter of the year. Based on the current model lineup, projections suggest its price point will likely fall between the Style (priced at R326 900) and the GT (priced at R363 100).
