WATCH | 'Viva: Let Zuma use the logo'
ELECTION fever has gripped the nation and tension is mounting as the battle over uMkhonto Wesizwe and the logo battle between the ANC and Jacob Zuma's MK Party is far from over.
The matter was taken to the Durban High Court in a trademark battle this week. This follows the ANC's loss at the Electoral Court. The governing party sought to have the MK Party removed from the ballot ahead of the 29 May elections. The ANC insists the symbols are integral to its heritage and intellectual property.
Bongani Thambe , a staunch MK Party supporter passionately defended Zuma's right to use the MK name and logo. In his view, the ANC forfeited any claim to these symbols when it effectively dismantled its military wing. He believes modernising the organisation is a natural evolution and the ANC has no grounds to oppose it.

She believes co-operation among political parties is essential for the good of the country and transcending petty squabbles over logos and names.
