SA Rugby have sanctioned what now becomes an urgent meeting to discuss the Currie Cup's future following SA's inclusion in the European cup tournaments. | sportmal Sport24news

SA Rugby's meeting about the Currie Cup's format for next season, scheduled for Friday, has now become eminently more urgent as South Africa's top non-franchise unions - notably the Pumas and Griquas - fear not only for the relevance of the hallowed domestic competition, but their own futures.

Sport24 has reliably learnt that the 2022/23's Currie Cup is currently slated to commence on the weekend of 6 November, allowing yet again for a double round format that provides much-needed commercial exposure for the Pumas and Griquas.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
