The challenge for Hall this week is to not overthink the opportunity that's in front of him.
15 years later, Kevin O'Connell remembers putting too much pressure on himself when he was a young quarterback trying to establish himself in the NFL.
O'Connell said he absolutely was guilty of thinking too much about the big picture during his playing career. Obviously, this is a massive opportunity for Hall. Preseason is one thing — this is his first chance to show what he can do as an NFL starting quarterback. And with Dobbs now in the building and Nick Mullens potentially back from injured reserve soon, nothing is guaranteed for Hall beyond this week. It would be huge for his career prospects if he can put some good things on tape in Atlanta.
"The career doesn’t ride on one game, although you don’t want to take the importance away from it," he said."This is a 1-0 week for us, and it’s the only game I’m focused on, and it’s gotta be my Super Bowl every week because it’s the most important thing that’s coming next."
