Following diplomatic pressure from the Vietnamese government, Malaysian prosecutors had dropped the murder charge against Doan Thi Huong on 1 April.

KUALA LUMPUR – A Vietnamese woman accused of killing the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will walk free on 3 May, her lawyer said Saturday.

The brazen killing of Kim Jong Nam with a toxic nerve agent at Kuala Lumpur's international airport in broad daylight shocked the world. "We have been told by prison authorities that Huong will be freed on 3 May," lawyer Salim Bashir told AFP.Last month the charge against co-accused 27-year-old Indonesian suspect Siti Aisyah was dropped.
