The kidnapping took place while Argamani was attending the Tribe of Nova music festival. An estimated 3,500 people attended the event, which was held three miles from the Gaza border. At least 260 festival-goers were killed in the Hamas attack. Festival organizers ordered the evacuation of the event around 6:30 a.m. local time Saturday when Hamas began its rocket attacks on Israel. WhatsApp messages from the event reportedly show the militants searched the area to prevent anyone from escaping, according to The New York Times.
“Me and Noa are hiding here,” Argamani's boyfriend wrote in a WhatsApp message. “Tell them there’s a gang of 20 men that are finding people who are hiding and lynching them."on social media appearing to show Argamani in captivity wearing the same outfit she had on while being kidnapped.
