Ahead of the new school year, a local nonprofit is sending some local kids back to class in style.

Dozens of kids got the chance to get a backpack full of supplies, dental supplies, a haircut or their nails done, pick up some snacks, lunch, cotton candy and more for free at Victory Health Partners in Mobile.This was Victory Health’s first back-to-school drive and they said it was a hit. Allison Roach, front office manager with Victory Health said, “Times are tough right now anyway you look at it, so it’s nice not only for the parents to get to come out and bring their kids to do something fun and not have to worry about anything, just come and enjoy it.”
Anne Nguyen, a triage assistant, said, “This has made me feel really good because by having these school supplies, I feel like we’re putting these students in a better position to excel academically as well.” “Yeah, he’s all ready for school now,” said one parent of his son. “He’s got his backpack, his haircut and his cotton candy.”Copyright 2024 WALA.
