One of the candidates vying for a spot on Victoria city council who was wanted on a province-wide warrant has been arrested, VicPD say.
Riga Godron, 44, was arrested by Langley RCMP after she failed to appear in court on sworn charges, according to Victoria police in a news release Thursday.in the 300-block of Dallas Road that officers had to “leap out of the way of” after she refused to stop.
“The fled the scene and was boxed in by responding officers in the 600-block of Pandora Avenue, a short distance from where Canada Day celebrations were occurring,” according to police.She was later released and, following her latest arrest, faces charges of obstructing a police officer, flight from police and driving without due care and attention.Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.
