Joshua Sarroino is charged in the death of Éric Francis De Souza, who was shot while dining with friends to celebrate a birthday.
Meng said that when the masked man was positioned directly behind De Souza, he raised his right hand, which was covered by the green plastic bag, and fired one shot “directly into the back of Éric’s head.”
“As Éric lay dying, the shooter ran away through the main entrance,” Meng said, adding that a camera inside the restaurant recorded everything. Other cameras recorded how the shooter’s path went through a nearby 3 Brasseurs restaurant and then out of sight.
