The makeup artist that designed the villainous Ursula in The Little Mermaid remake responds to some of the backlash against her controversial look.
The makeup artist for The Little Mermaid is fighting back against some of the criticism about Ursula's look. Multiple members of the LGBTQ+ community have been speaking out against the design, citing that it appears to have taken inspiration from the famous drag queen Divine, who also influenced the character's original animated appearance.
"I find that very offensive. Why can't I do as good a job as a queer makeup artist? That's ridiculous. That's trying to claim it and that's fine, if that's what they wanna do, but don't put people down because they're not what they want it to be. I personally don't get it.
