The incident was reported at around 11.37am. Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported the fire is actually located on the exit slip road at junction 26.
The exit slip road was partially blocked at junction 26 near the A610 towards Nottingham and Eastwood. Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported slow traffic due to the incident. The fire has since been extinguished and the lanes reopened.Inrix said: “M1 Southbound exit slip road partially blocked, slow traffic due to vehicle fire at J26 A610 .”Lana AdkinInrix reports that traffic has cleared. Inrix said: "Traffic returned to normal, earlier vehicle fire on M1 Southbound at J26 A610 .
"Lane one was closed as well as a lane on the exit slip road from the Southbound M1 onto the A610 underneath earlier. Restrictions were lifted prior to 12:25."
