That is late even by the standards of “take out the trash day” — media shorthand for the way governments hold back their most embarrassing announcements to the end of the weekly news cycle.
Lack of oversight. Lack of controls. Conflicting definitions of risk between the government and B.C. Housing. “To produce a list of B.C. Housing development projects for new housing stock, it required two individuals manually reconciling over 600 reports, taking three weeks to prepare.” All in, Ernst & Young’s fault-finding ran to 26 separate findings, backstopped by 44 recommendations for improvement.
Other directors include accountant Russ Jones, who twice served as acting auditor general, and Mark Sieben, a deputy minister in the office of Premier John Horgan. Two other former deputy ministers round out the new appointees.
