Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur says that the team is not reading much into Charles Leclerc’s impressive pace during the late stages of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, matching both Red Bull car’s pace.Throughout last and this season, Ferrari’s main weakness has been made obvious. The Italian outfit’s tyre wear has costed the team performance during the race.
However, towards the final stages of the race Leclerc was able to match Red Bull’s pace. Despite that, the Monegasque was also holding on to the final podium place from a fast-charging Fernando Alonso. Although it seemed that Leclerc had a lot of potential left in his hard compound tyre’s. However, Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur reckons that the late pace came from excessive tyre management throughout the race in Baku.
