Six players felt the wrath of MLS DisCo on Tuesday, and coach Vanni Sartini likely will too, following outbursts in their loss to St. Louis.

With the Whitecaps down 2-1 late in the 94th minute of Saturday’s game, Cubas was whistled for a foul on Aziel Jackson deep in Vancouver territory.

“Some of the players went to the referee to express their disagreement on the referee’s performance,” Sartini said Tuesday. “… It was nothing crazy … It was like a little bit of animosity and the league decided to fine us.”“I think everybody was frustrated at what happened in the game, and he voiced that,” Blackmon said of Sartini’s post-game comments. “It’s good to see that he felt our frustration in the game as well, and he voiced that to the public.

They have 17 points from 14 games, just one more than last year’s total after the same span, but all but three of those points have come at B.C. Place. “It’s not just channelling frustration, it’s just trying to put more quality and to keep trusting the process. The Dynamo are in a similar position as Vancouver, also winless on the road in 2023 , but with one more point to sit in seventh place. Houston’s road woes are historically borne out in Vancouver, where they’ve played 12 times in MLS history, but are yet to win .
