A piece of wood bearing the signature of Sewell Moody with the words “All Lost” that was recovered from a beach in Victoria in December 1875 following the wreck of the Pacific with the loss of at least 350 lives.Six-weeks later, that board washed up on the beach just below Beacon Hill near Victoria, close to where Moody had been living at the time, and was found by government workers still checking the beaches daily for bodies from the wreck.
