Coun. Hardwick released a statement welcoming the decision and attacking Stewart for his comments on her motion for a plebiscite on holding the 2030 Winter Olympics.

In March, Hardwick was accused by Stewart of violating a memo of understanding with local First Nations when she tried to get the plebiscite on the 2030 Winter Olympics on the election ballot in October. In the report released last week, integrity commissioner Lisa Southern sided with Hardwick. It said Stewart “has every right to form views, to hold views, to express views and, while in office, to give effect to those views.” However, he erred in characterizing the motion as a direct violation of the memorandum, “which it was not.”Article content
