An Island teacher has been stripped of his license for 15 years after admitting to sending sexual messages and photographs to students.
A Vancouver Island high school teacher has been stripped of his license for 15 years after admitting to sending sexual messages and photographs to students, according to B.C.’s Commissioner for Teacher Regulation.published on Aug. 1 states that Neil Holmes was employed as a secondary school teacher by Nanaimo Ladysmith’s School District 68, and on May 14, 2021, his teaching certificate was suspended.
“At one point, Holmes sent Student A a photograph of his classroom, indicating that this was a place where he would like to have sex with Student A,” reads the agreement. Student C graduated in June 2015 and did not have Holmes as a classroom teacher but did have him as a TOC in grade nine, says the agreement. Between February and April 2016, they exchanged text messages which included texts of a sexual nature by Holmes.
