Real estate developers are eying a long-vacant East Dallas block for a new rental community.Formerly the site of old apartments and homes, the property at Live Oak and Bennett Avenue is in an area that’s seeing widespread redevelopment.

The five-story, almost half million-square-foot development would start this spring, according to planning documents filed with the state.Merriman Anderson Architects is designing the new rental complex.
